about

This album is the culmination of 7 years of dating from my late 20’s to mid 30’s. As I’m sure many single (and married) people can relate - trying to find a relationship that sticks in the 21st century can feel like an endless stream of “almosts” - promising first dates that never became second ones, deep connections that never flowered into commitments, the partnership that you were **so sure** was finally “the one,” only to watch it implode at it’s time of being truly tested. What I am finding after many trials and errors over the years, is that the search can be over when we learn to BECOME that perfect person for ourselves. Each connection I have had has not been a “failure,” but a practice in love and a learning of what it means to be human - both in my own unique way, as well as in a universal sense. The writing and recording of this album has been a healing process and journey back to my deepest love and most important relationship of all - the one I have with me.

SPECIAL THANKS TO: JC Mears and Ted Marks for being such an integral part of this album happening. I truly couldn't have done this without y'all. All the musicians who gave their time and amazing talent to the project. Hannah Kaplan for NAILING the cover art and making my concept visually come to life. My chosen Shoji family - I love all of you so much. Thank you for sticking by me through the hard times and for all of your support, unconditional love and amazingness. Thank you Adam, Ben, Maria, Kanji and Hinde for your care, support and friendship. Thank you Brucie for being my illegitimate, illegally adoptive father and always loving me up, Warren for being my Godfather, and my blood Sachs family for being amazing, accepting me and loving me! Leon and Bryan for being my wonderful humans and loyal super fans for all of these years! Tommy Byrnes for your help with post production consulting and general awesomeness. Everyone who donated to my Indiegogo campaign, including Jules Esh/Earphoria, Bradley Harrington, Owen Freeman-Daniels, and Owen Cauley. To all of the men who broke my heart and ended up in song: thank you for your lessons and reflections so that I could grow and evolve. I hope I was able to offer you the same. Thank you for the love we shared that inspired. I wish you all well.
