An obvious break up song (and somewhat of a sequel to the tune “I Left” off of my album “The Giantness of Little Things.”) Like many people, I went through an abrupt and extremely painful “COVID break-up.” This song is about processing the shock of losing my love in the context of a global catastrophe. It’s about watching the world fall apart and retreating inward (both literally and metaphorically) to heal and grieve. Until a relationship is truly tested, we will never know how strong it is. We always have a choice when our intimate relationships inevitably trigger our deepest wounds - do we stick it out, or do we bail?
